What is viral  marketing? In order to answer this question, you will need to dig in and answer these questions as well:

What is YouTube?

What is Flickr?

What is FaceBook?

What are Social Networking Websites?

What is Twitter?

I could add over a hundred more, but let’s not go there. The point is viral marketing is huge. And if you hope to cash in on the vast amount of money to be made online, then you must simply research some of these most talked about players of the social networking scene.

To check out our favorite  top 10 social networking sites….check out the following links:

The most important thing to remember when participating in Viral Marketing and Social Networking Websites is to be yourself, make genuine connections, and take the time to develop meaningful relationships.

Success is almost guaranteed when your efforts are carried through on a consistent basis and in an honorable way. Most of your competitors will either act with the hard sell approach or simply fade away and not market with continuity. When you do, your efforts will bring results.

What is Twitter?

what is twitter

Does this little birdie remind you of something?

Did you post any tweets today?

Have you responded to any?

Think you have nothing to say?

Think again. Twitter is not about writing something profound, or even writing  a rehashed idea of a “new” marketing strategy.

Twitter is about writing about what you are thinking about having for dinner, or about what cute little thing your baby or your puppy did today.

Does this not sound irrelevant?

Well, the truth is, Twitter is the hottest social networking website on the planet. So, why not join in on the fun. Participating in Twitter (just as participating in life) will lead to connections with people of similar interests.

So don’t try to be cool if you’re not. If you cry while watching Grey’s Anatomy, tweet about it. You never know what could happen. Your next client may be a kindred spirit, longing to connect with a sensitive marketing professional.

Al Franken and Viral Marketing

April 28th, 2009 admin No comments

al frankenWhat does Al Franken know about viral marketing?

Reaching beyond his home state of Minnesota into the hearts of Americans and beyond, Franken has hoisted himself into the spotlight not by promoting a new book with a controversial title but by using politics as his platform.

Yes, he won the Senate race in Minnesota – it is official. And no it doesn’t matter, that it was far from a landslide.

This is the man who wrote the book

Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat
Idiot.

The title of his book speaks volumes about his frank way of communicating.

Franken obviously doesn’t feel compelled to sensor his thoughts. And this is most likely why voters wanted him in office. Refreshing honesty. Who cares about being politically correct?

If one lives in a way that he is not afraid of gathering enemies…he is probably doing something right. This what people who want to embrace the full power of viral marketing need to understand – be bold, and lighten up. You go Al!

Be the Brand

Every time you suppress some part of yourself or allow others to play you small you are in essence ignoring the owner’s manual your creator gave you and destroying your design.
-Oprah Winfrey

What Oprah is  so eloquently talking about is your personal brand.  The idea is to first know who you are, then know who you are targeting. When you are clear on these steps it will be easier (and more fun) to move forward.

The Elivator to Success

The elevator to success is out of order. You’ll have to use the stairs…. One step at a time.

There really are no shortcuts to success. And the older I get, I really appreciate this, because when success does come – whether it’s a new client from the other side of the world, a book I wrote with my partner, or the completion of our fourteenth website – I can smile knowing not too many people would have bothered.

Manifest Passive Income

September 25th, 2008 admin No comments

When you think of Success what sort of images come to mind for you? Lots of money in the bank, having a great job that comes with a big paycheck? How about vibrant health and the time and freedom to play tennis or take a trip to the mountains?

All these things are great, but what really matters is the kind of feeling you have established throughout the day, when you go to bed at night, and when you wake up in the morning, and so, and so on, and so on. In other words, does your lifestyle make you happy? If it does, I would say you have, without a doubt, manifested Success.

I wonder about success in my own life. Sometimes I feel it, other times I am not so sure, and other times I know I do not feel it at all. That got me thinking, how can I have that feeling on a more consistent basis. My husband, Mark, did this exercise with me, by the way.

That’s when we decided to add another website to of growing list of online businesses. This is new one is called Manifest-Passive-Income, http://www.manifest-passive-income.com

We created Manifest-Passive-Income as a way to show people (and reinforce within us) that it is virtually impossible to avoid manifesting passive income, and achieving success if you follow through on certain important web building tools and lifestyle-enhancing techniques.

Of course if your idea of success does not involve making money while you play and enjoy your life, then Manifest-Passive-Income will probably not appeal to you. And if you send me your address, I can drum up and send you some dense paperwork that I was going to give to my accountant, that will add to your stress level.

But, if you are like me and Mark, you would rather delegate the work stuff that puts a wrench in your plans to live a fulfilling life. Oh, by the way, we are also planning on presenting a Manifest Passive Income Seminar in the Denver, Colorado are on October 18. If you happen to be in the area-it would be great to see you there.

The Seminar is free, and we will be sharing a ton of information about how to live our idea of a successful lifestyle. For details just go to Manifest-Passive-Income.com

That’s it for now, friends. If you can’t make it to the seminar, please, do yourselves a huge favor and check out the new website. Having a life with freedom and more fun is more of a choice, than you sometimes realize.

Identifying and Acting on Truly Great Ideas

light bulb idea

“An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.”

-Buddha
How do you know when you have a great idea or you are just kidding yourself? In the competitive business world today, great ideas are the foundation of success. If you are inspired enough to have a truly great one, act on it, and act on it quickly. But if you are the only one on the planet that can see the greatness in what you have, it is destined to fail.

So, in an effort to save you time and money here are some tips to help you figure out if you should run with your “baby”:

1. Follow your gut. Your intuition is the closest thing to inspired guidance there is. If you hear [feel] that undeniable nudge once, listen. If it keeps popping up again and again, act on it. This will separate you from the majority of people who ignore signs and choose to escape, instead of taking a risk.

The Power of Persuasion

August 6th, 2008 admin No comments

So, what’s the deal with the power of persuasion? Is it just a good business skill or is it manipulation?

Let’s talk about manipulation first. A typical sales pitch involves the motive to manipulate. It will look like a set up, and the one being set up will feel like a caged animal. The seller begins zeroing in on the potential customer’s pain. It starts as an introduction and a handshake. Then you pick up an on accent as your target begins speaking, or a ring he is sporting on his right pinkie – something that moves the conversation to a more personal nature.

This probing leads to what city the target is from, what he likes to do for fun, and what he wishes he had more time to do…until before you know it, the poor slob is bearing his vulnerabilities to the vulture. And then of course, the manipulator goes in for the kill.

How to Make Your Blog Shine

August 5th, 2008 admin No comments

Cyberspace is filled with millions of blogs. And a steady current of these informational pages feed into the mainstream everyday with the potential to connect with millions of readers. So, why do some blogs generate electricity and create a receptive audience while others barely ignite a spark of interest?
I searched out some of the more popular blogs, and found what they had in common. Here are 3 things I came up with to help you make your blog shine:
1. Make it personal. That doesn’t mean to share the details of your trip to the dentist. (unless maybe your blog is on personal hygiene). What I mean by personal is to have your personality stamped on your blog. If readers saw 25 different posts from 25 different bloggers, they should easily be able to pick yours out.
Whether you have the sense of humor of an 8-year old boy, or you are an intellectual snob, or you are a tell-it-like-it-is Right Wing Redneck, let that come out each and every time. Just as people like a certain tv show because of the characters they can count on to behave and talk and act a certain way, the dedicated blog reader will come to expect your personality to be consistent. Do not disappoint them.
2. Be generous. Many “famous” bloggers share their platform from time to time. They put a guest blogger’s post on their blog, by introducing them to their audience, and provide a short bio with their website or blog at the end of the post.
This is wonderful for the featured blogger, who gets instant respect and recognition. But, it also good for the established blogger who introduced the guest. It gives the host blogger the opportunity to provide fresh, related material to his loyal audience. This type of arrangement also gives the busy blogger a needed break every now and then. Lastly, it is just makes sense to connect with fellow bloggers who produce posts you love. Networking by acknowledging a fellow blogger is powerful, and whatever you give, you will get back a hundred times over.
3. Tell Stories. Again, people may not want the details of your colonoscopy, but readers like to be entertained. And there is nothing quite so entertaining (or enlightening) as real life experiences.
Use your imagination to take you there. Depending on your topic of the day, go back to when you were a kid, and retell an encounter you had with your soccer coach. Or fast forward to present time when you unexpectedly ran into an old friend at Starbucks. Learn to pick out the details that are pertinent to your point and embellish. Your readers will keep coming back for more.
Once you get in the habit of practicing these three tips, you will already be one step ahead of the competition. Blogs are definitely the current venue to shine. They are provide a great creative outlet for the blogger, and they provide a causal and informative arena for the reader.
Readers are also attracted to the interactive nature of blogs. Imagine what it would be like to have a dialogue between you and your favorite character on tv. My conversation would probably be with Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson, Kyra Sedgewick’s character on The Closer. As a woman entrepreneur, I really appreciate confident, sexy, and professional women. However, I just might suggest to Brenda that she ease up on her FBI husband. I wonder how she would respond.
Till next time…happy blogging.

Why Public Relations?

May 14th, 2008 admin No comments

If you think only people like Paris Hilton or Tiger Woods take advantage of Public Relations, think again. Smaller businesses with very modest budgets have a lot to gain from PR. And now that businesses are popping up on the internet at an ever-increasing rate, a well executed public relations campaign has the power to set you apart from the masses.

Not convinced that you need some help to get noticed? Take a look at these statistics and maybe you will change your mind:

* From the years 1999 to 2000 there was a 50% increase in unique websites, from 3.5 million to 7 million sites.

* In February 2007, the Netcraft Web Server Survey found 108,810,358 distinct websites.

* In North America alone approximately 246,402,574 use the internet (as of March 2008).

* Today there are over 1,407,724,920 internet users Worldwide.

With all these websites vying for our attention, how do your potential customers know which ones are worthy of their time? The numbers show without a doubt that a wealth of new customers could be yours. But do you understand what it takes to attract their attention? With the help of a trusted PR firm you will be in a much better position to take advantage of the internet boom. Here are 4 major considerations you may want to keep in mind when choosing a firm that is right for you:
